Four weighted about 5 00kg steers with permanent rumen cannulas were chosen and arranged in a 4x4 latin square trial. 25mg/kg,50mg/kg,lOOmg/kg of zinc was supplemented to the basal diet (control group) with concentrate and roughage ratio of 40:60 in order to study the rumen microorganism metabolism and animal metabolism. The results showed as follows. The supplementation of zinc linearly lowed rumen NH3.Compared with the control group, the steer supplemented with zinc hare no significant effect on rurnen NH3(P>0.05). The supplementation of zinc increased the rumen digestibility of Corn DM and GM. Compared with the control group, the digestibility of corn DM and GM increased by 8.98% 9.65 1%(P<0.05) in steers treated with SOmg/kgDM zinc. On my conditions, the feedstuff supplemented SOmg/kgDM zinc have the best effect on the rumen digestination of corn. The ruminal digestibility of rice straw DM,NDF,ADF were increased .vith the supplementation of zinc. The digestibility of rice straw DM,NDF,ADF were increased by 28.707%,23.525%,26.299% (P<0.05) in steers in SOmg/kgDM groups, by 40.816%-i 56.427%,42.960% (P<0.01) in lOOmg/kgDM
