The nature forest area in the middle and upper reaches of Changjiang River is one of the most important forest areas in our China. Because of its special geographical position, it has some special abilities that can't be substituted such as water conservation, soil and water conservation, maintaining the balance of ecology etc. However, the ignorance of nature-forest significant ecological, social function and excessive deforest leads to environment destroy and continual natural disaster, it has been deeply withheld the economy development of the area. Therefore, enhancing the management of nature-forest will play an important role in improving the environment-quality of Changjiang valley.Based on the primary summary of nature-forest at home and abroad, emphasis is placed on studying the structure and function of natural forest of Finns massoniana, Cupressus fineries and mixed species forest of Pinus-oak.. According to more than 80 quadrats data in Hunan and Hubei province, Contents mainly include species composition, classification, character, age and diameter structure, species diversity, forest hydrology, succession tendency etc. Aspects of major site factors were used in dividing natural forest working group, and then the main operational plans of different working group were given. The results showed that:(1) Using average diameter as the growth index of Hunan and Hubei province, the relationship between parameter of Weibull distribution and average diameter was discussed. We built adumbrative models between parameter of Weibull distribution and stand factors by applying multiple-variable linear regression and gradual regression. The results is as follows: The effect is well simulated; The linearity relationship between the parameter "b" and average diameter "d" is obviously; The relationship between parameter "c" and average diameter "d" isn't very clear; The relationship between parameter "c" and coefficient of diameter variation "Cvd" is hyperbola.(2) As for the relationship between Cupressus fineries of different vegetation cover degrade and function of soil and water conservation, the erosive modulus of multi-storey structure is less than single multi-storey (two storey) and tree single-storey structure, on the contray, the function of soil and water conservation is bigger.(3) On the base of clarifying the ecology-character of natural broad-leaved forest, natural Pinus massoniana and Pinus massoniana plantation, the degenerative characters of natural Pinus massoniana and Finns massoniana plantation are clear from the angle of the structure and function of forest ecosystem. It is mainly represented by the followings: ?the species diversity losing, ?the ability of regulation microclimate is low, ?the ability of holding water is low, (D the soil fertility declining serious, (D the community structure is unstable.(4) Forest working-groups were formerly classified by operational plan, this kind of classification is not helpful to improving management level and carrying out forest sustainable management. According to the requirements of forest management, this paper put forward the principles and theories for dividing forest working-group. Aspects of major site factors were introduced into dividing forest working-group, and the main operational plans of each working-group were given.
