With different type of 12 varieties of rice, respectively, at dif-ferent times on rice roots and root dry weight, fresh root for volume measurement, analysis of morphological characteristics of the root, yield and quality of relations, the results are as follows:1,The most heavy the number of adventitious roots per plant, root dry weight per plant, bulk of fresh root per plant of different type rice was a marked difference, then semi-erect panicle varieties, ear-bendingand ear upright varieties observed at milk ripening stage, laterdecreased slowly, During the same period semi-erect panicle varieties than ear-bending and ear upright varieties.2,The main difference of rice between bulk of fresh root and root dry weight, in the soil at different levels of distribution are quite different, and bulk of Fresh root and root dry weight of semi-erect panicle varieties, ear-bending and ear upright varieties were increased with soil depth reduced, During the same period, bulk of Fresh root and root dry weight of semi-erect panicle varieties were reduced with soil depth reduced, followed by ear-bending and ear upright varieties; Tested varieties of fresh root bulk androot dry weight of the soil surface (0-10cm) accounted for over 71% , soil layer(10～20cm)accounted for over15%, and below the soil for 20cm only about 5%.3,Different varieties of rice seedling the root/shoot ratio also different, Ear-bending varieties of root/shoot ratio will be greater than the semi-erect panicle and ear upright varieties at 5.1-1eaf stage, and semi-erect panicle varieties of root/shoot ratio will be greater than the ear-bending and ear upright varieties at tillering exuberant stage, beading exuberant stage, milk ripening stage and fully mature stage.4,While significant correlation were observec between root dry weight, seed setting rate and yield at heading exuberant stage, milk ripening stage and fully mature stage, and with the effective per plant was significantly negatively correlated . And the total number of roots and seed setting rate was significantly correlated. Spike different varieties no significant difference.5,While significant correlation were observec between root dry weight, bulk of fresh root, the total number of roots and brown rice ratio, gel consistenc, alkali digestion value(ADV), protein content at tillering exuberant stage ,heading exuberant stage, milk ripening stage and fully mature stage;And the other did not meet quality characteristics signif-icantly correlated level. The Semi-erect panicle varieties, ear-bending and ear upright varieties species difference is not significant.
