AMSR-E soil moisture products have been applied in meteorology, agriculture and other fields. Studing on soil moisture has an important significance, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. In this paper, AMSR-E soil moisture products that were as an validated data on short-term field experiment in Xilinhot which was a single point of soil moisture data and long-term ground stations of soil moisture data in northwest of China. Studing the relationship between satellite products and precipitation. Finally,as auxiliary data,NCEP/NCAR reanalysis soil moisture data compared with AMSR-E data on soil moisture consistency.First, paper expound the significance of AMSR-E soil moisture validation and method, then the existing home and abroad experimental validation of the site are briefly described, highlighting the long-term network of observation stations and short-term field experiment verification.Second, describe AMSR-E soil moisture retrieval algorithm and products briefly .According to research, five provinces in northwest of China as the research area, paper obtain and evaluate the AMSR-E soil moisture products. Then do something about AMSR-E soil moisture products that projection transformation and data synthesis, extracting ground points, which were the same spatial and temporal soil moisture value. At the same time introduced the method of ground soil moisture, evaluation and analysis.Third, validate AMSR-E soil moisture products in the region of northwest of China. Through statistical analysis methods, respectively at different rainfall, different seasons and different land coverage to validate the AMSR-E soil moisture products which from 2006 to 2008.After analysis, identify the advantages and disadvantages of AMSR-E algorithm and limitation .Fourthly, AMSR-E soil moisture products validated in Xilinhot grassland, which was an single point validation. From July 15 to September 30, 2009 , evaluated AMSR-E soil moisture products in the application of Xilinhot ,and the relationships between inter-layered soil moisture and precipitation .Finally, compare AMSR-E soil moisture products with the global and northwest of China NCEP/NCAR reanalysis soil moisture data, the overall analysis of AMSR-E soil moisture products in the worldwide general condition.The results showed that, AMSR-E soil moisture product were consistent with precipitation, ground truth soil moisture, and the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis soil moisture data. With the result of some validation generally, it improved a wide range for applications and stability foundation for algorithms.
