Based on the scientific assumption "the trialism of Chinese herbal nature, effect and substance of the four natures of TCM", the substantial basis of the TCM treatment of cold heat syndrome should be the integral coordination function of all the chemical constituents of the TCM. Therefore, the systematical analysis study of the inherent component of the TCM is one of the critical procedure to reveal the four nature of TCM substantial basis.This research topic is based on the National Basic Research Program of China, study on the relative basic research of the four nature of TCM theory-based study on the trialism of Chinese herbal nature, effect and substance of the four nature of TCM, to develop the study and construction of the digital representation system based on the ultraviolet spectrum fingerprints of cold-heat nature of TCM substantial basis in accordance with the cognition rules of modern science.Contraposing to the definite cold-heat nature of TCM, with the Ultraviolet Spectrum Line method, established the ultraviolet spectrum fingerprints of the all 51 cold-heat nature of TCM, and summarized the characteristic rule of ultraviolet spectrum absorption peak, found that the main difference between the cold nature and the heat nature of TCM in the Chloroform and Petroleum ether extract ultraviolet spectrum fingerprints. The cold nature of TCM had lower intensity absorption but the hot nature of TCM did not have absorption in 370-400nm of the Chloroform extract ultraviolet spectrum fingerprints. Less cold nature of TCM had absorption peaks but more hot nature of TCM had absorption peaks in 300-400nm of the Petroleum ether extract ultraviolet spectrum fingerprints.Adopting the principal component analysis, discriminant analysis(Fisher Discriminant, Bayes Discrimination and Support Vector Machine) to ultraviolet spectrum data carrying on the statistical analysis, build the discriminant model of the cold-heat nature of TCM. According to the present analysis sample quantity, Bayes Discrimination is more suitable for building the discriminant model based on the ultraviolet spectrum data. The high back discrimination ratio of the construction of discriminant model shows that the extracted the digital information of the ultraviolet spectrum fingerprints can basically reflect substantial basis.The research results of this paper reveals adopting multivariate statistical analysis method to abstract and data mining for the ultraviolet spectrum information of the representation of the cold-heat nature of TCM substantial basis, could establish the discriminant model based on the ultraviolet spectrum data of the cold-heat nature of TCM, and furtherly abstract the characteristic ultraviolet spectrum information of cold-heat nature of TCM, thus preliminarily establish the digital representation system based on the ultraviolet spectrum fingerprints reflected the cold-heat nature of TCM substantial basis, to lay a foundation for next construction of the scientific system based on the secondary metabolites characterized elements of the cold-heat nature of TCM.
