Objective:This research was aimed at the clinical treatment of primary dysmenorrhea which were difficult problems needed be solved, through the research of the general situation of patients with primary dysmenorrhea, symptoms and signs in Chengdu and Zhengzhou, to study TCM syndrome type and distribution of primary of dysmenorrhea in Chengdu, Zhengzhou, and to find the differences of syndromes between the two region, to discuss the distribution characteristics of primary dysmenorrhea tentatively,to put forward new ideas of the TCM treatment of primary dysmenorrhea, and to do the preliminary exploration work for the standardization of follow-up research, while to provide a plan for comprehensive reference for the prevention and treatment of primary dysmenorrhea Chinese medicine. Methods:A cross-sectional epidemiological survey with modern methods of mathematical statistics were adopted, a "primary dysmenorrhea TCM questionnaire" was designed on the basis of extensive literature review, combined with expert advice; to investigate 218 cases of primary dysmenorrhea in Chengdu,196 cases in Zhengzhou on the spot using the method of cross-sectional study. To entering and check the data, using microsoft excel to establish a database, frequency analysis, mean±standard deviation, Pearson chi-square test, rank sum test statistics were taken with SPSS 17.0 statistical package. Results:The proportion of Qi stagnation and blood stasis type was the most in Chengdu, accounted for 39.44%, followed by cold-damp congealing, accounted for 27.06%, and accumulation and stasis of damp-heat(15.13%); The proportion of cold-damp congealing type was the most in Zhengzhou, accounted for 46.94%, followed by Qi stagnation and blood stasis, accounted for 32.65%, and accumulation and stasis of damp-heat(6.12%). Document type of primary dysmenorrhea in Chengdu was blood stasis, accounts for 43.30%, accounting for 44.44% in Zhengzhou; the common degree of pain was moderate, accounting for 64.01%; Qi stagnation and blood stasis of moderate dysmenorrhea accounted for 66.23%; cold-damp congealing of moderate dysmenorrhea accounted for 77.33%, cold-damp congealing of severe dysmenorrhea accounted for 88.89%; Deficiency symdrome has close relation with early or late of menstruation. Positive symptoms were there early period of high probability (P<0.05), deficiency of the late period there were high probability (P<0.05), false is mixed persons have high probability of Irregular Menstruation(P<0.05); the degree of pain in the distribution of age at menarche was statistically significant (P<0.05); the TCM syndromes of primary dysmenorrhea in age, BMI, duration, marriage, personality, the degree of pain had differences (P<0.05), no difference in age of menarche (P>0.05)Conelusion:The primary dysmenorrhea syndrome was Qi stagnation and blood stasis in Chengdu, the primary dysmenorrhea with cold coagulation and blood stasis in Zhengzhou. Accumulation and stasis of damp-heat type was more in Chengdu than in Zhengzhou. Blood stasis was the most in document-based type analysis of the two regions.By the overall analysis in Zhengzhou and Chengdu, the distribution of TCM symdrome of primary dysmenorrhea in age of menarche had no significant difference; the distribution of TCM symdrome of primary dysmenorrhea had significant difference in age, duration, Marriage, BMI,personality.
