[Objective]To investigate the awareness of HIV/AIDS related knowledge and behaviors of HIV/AIDS among migrant workers at Beijing 2 construction sites, analysis the influencing factors of this, and investigate the health education requirement of HIV/AIDS prevention so as to provide scientific evidence and basis on the HIV/AIDS prevention and education.[Methods]It was a cross-sectional study. The method of cluster sampling was employed. A questionnaire survey was administered and face-to-face interviews was conducted in a limited scope among migrant workers from two construction sites which are located in Fengtai and Shijingshan district. All of those were under the principle of informed consent.[Results]1. A total of 400 questionnaires were dispensed and 310 valid questionnaires were taken back.301 respondents are male, accounting for 97.1% and 9 respondents are female, accounting for 2.9%. The average age of respondents was 37.2 and the married rate of them was 78.7%. The major education levels of respondents were junior high school, accounting for 64.8%. The average education year was 8.3. The monthly income of 80% migrant workers was among(?)500~2000 and the average monthly income of all workers was(?)1221.9.2.174 (56.1%) migrant workers have worked in other places before working in Beijing. The average working life of workers in Shijingshan construction was 6.2 years and it was 4.7 years in Fengtai construction.3.80.0% workers have had no disease and 92.9% no genitourinary system symptoms.4. None of them have taken drugs and 95.5% had no homogeneity sexual.Only 7 male respondents (2.3%) have had commercial sex with sex workers.2 of them have used condoms every time,3 have used condoms sometimes,2 have never used condoms.Only 27.7% of them buy condoms themselves.5. According to the survey result of migrant workers's knowledge which related about the HIV/AIDS transmission routes, the average scores was 4.35 on the question about the 8 HIV/AIDS transmission. Only 1 (0.3%) people answered correctly of all 8 questions, and 30(9.7%) people answered all 8 questions mistakenly. According to the result of the survey of HIV/AIDS transmission, more than 60% of migrant workers knew about the maternal-neonatal,blood and sexual behaviors (in heterosexual) were HIV/AIDS transmission routes. However, only 38% and 6.8% of them knew that the homogeneity sexual and tattoo were HIV/AIDS transmission routes too.6. The result of rank sum test of social demography characteristic and the HIV/AIDS transmission routes scores showed that there are statistical significance among the scores of each education levels(P<0.001).The multiple regression analysis result indicated that the scores elevated along with the years of schooling(r=0.277,P<0.001).7. The result of one-way ANOVA,T-test and rank sum test showed that there weren't correlation between the transmission routes scores and behavior.8. The main routes that migrant workers had gotten of HIV/AIDS knowledge were radio and TV (60.3%), next to newspapers and magazines (58.1%). The most wanted HIV/AIDS services of migrant workers were getting promotional materials,face-to-face education by doctor or plugger or watch posters. Migrant workers thought HIV/AIDS was far away from their own lives.so 31.0% of them thought "whatever" for getting HIV/AIDS information or services.9. Interviews were carried out among interviewees, including 12 migrant workers and 2 groups. The interview showed that the migrant workers are engaged in heavy physical work every day, far away from home, without daily leisure time. The construction's payroll system is the annual salary system. migrant workers had(?)100~300 pocket money every month. Lack of leisure time, cash-short and fellow-villager supervision ought to be the reason of their seldom commercial sex with sex workers. [Conclusion]1.This investigation showed that the respondents have the higher average age, married rate and better health, lower level of education than the national average age of China's migrant workers.2.Only 2.3% respondents have had commercial sex. Interviews show, builders were paid by a special way which led to economic constraints and lived in the special environment which led to the fellow-villager supervision. These led to a restraint of the workers in the commercial sex and other high-risk sexual behaviors. The short of money led to a large extent limited the workers in the sex trade and other high-risk sexual behavior.3.There weren't correlation between the transmission routes scores and behavior of HIV/AIDS.4.It can be known that although the migrant workers had some basic knowledge on HIV/AIDS, most of them still lacked essential cognition of HIV/AIDS and there was huge disparity among the awareness rates about HIV/AIDS transmission routes. It is should come from the imbalance of HIV/AIDS education emphasis. The root approach to improve the HIV/AIDS related knowledge level was raise the education level of migrant workers.5.This investigation showed that radio and TV still are the most important way to transmit HIV/AIDS related knowledge to migrant workers.
