[Objective]Stained teeth seriously affect the appearance of the teeth, leading to psychological barriers for some patients. At present, the whitening of stained teeth is a research direction and focus of Cosmetic Dentistry. In this study, field emission scanning electron microscope is used to analyze the composition of active calcium ion solution, and to detect the effect of calcium ions solution on the ultrastructure of enamel and cementum of the vitro teeth; Through cell cultivation, we observe the biocompatibility of active calcium ions solution on NIH3T3 cell, and by creating exogenous stained teeth models, we observe the white value changes after the active calcium ions solution treatment of extrinsic stained teeth, analyze its effects, and thus provide experimental evidence for its clinical application.【Materials and Methodology】1. The detection of calcium ion solution and its influence on the ultrastructure of the enamel and dentin of vitro teeth:by detecting calcium ions solution composition with a Quanta200feg field emission scanning electron microscopy, the ultrastructure of teeth enamel and cementum is observed before and after the application of calcium ions solution.2. MTT method to evaluate the cytotoxicity of calcium ions solution:After diluting the calcium ions solution, MTT assay method is used to observe the impact of active calcium ions solution of different concentrations on the NIH3T3 cells growth. Based on cell relative growth rate, we rate the cytotoxicity level.3. Brushing vitro teeth colorimetric experiment:a model of extrinsic stained teeth by tea, saliva and chlorhexidine is built. Brush the teeth with calcium ions solution, then we take down the white chroma value before and 1,4, and 7days after the experiment, thus creating a control group. After that, we do a paired t test via SPSS 13.0 software, and P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.[Results]1. Through the application of Quanta200feg field emission scanning electron microscopy, calcium ions solution is composed of calcium, carbon, oxygen, and chlorine. And that there is no change in the enamel and cementum before and after brushing the teeth with calcium ions solution,2. The maximum concentration of qualified calcium ions solution on toxicity level is 0.344mg/ml.3. In the experiments of brushing vitro teeth with active calcium ions solution, we discover that the difference of white chroma value before and 1,4, and 7 days after brushing the teeth is 30.05±12.64,35.20±12.58,33.6±14.64 respectively. Compared with the compared group, there is no significant difference 1 day after the brushing (P> 0.05), but the difference is significant after 4 and 7days of brushing.[Conclusions]1. Active calcium ions solution is composed of calcium, carbon, oxygen and chlorine. And it has no effect on the ultrastructure of enamel and cementum of the teeth.2. We need to select the appropriate concentration when active calcium ion solution is used in the oral cavity,3. Calcium ions solution has a good detergent effect on stained teeth. This study shows that calcium ions solution, as a novel biological solution, may be a new type of teeth whitening products.
