Objective: According to the research of effects of plant sterol on the hyperlipidemia model rats and high plasma lipid group, exploring its mechanism. Methods: Wistar rats was divided into 5 groups ,those are NC group ,HF group ,L group ,M group and H group. Give the HF group bean oil and the dose groups plant sterol once a day for four weeks by intragastric administration . examine serological testing at the end of the fourth week , apart and weigh the liver . Ovariectomized rat model was modeling by the bilateral ovaries removal operation , the ovariectomized rats was divided into 5 groups ,those are model group , E2 group , L group , M group and H group 12 days after operation . Other 10 rats was sham operated ,as control . Executed the rats , apart the liver and uterus and weighing ,then examine serological testing. Clinical hyperlipidemia group was divided into 2 groups by the blood fat level, to examine serological testing and biochemical parameters before and after administration, to ensure effects of plant sterol on blood lipid . Results: Plant sterol feeding on body weight had no significant effect. Plant sterols have a modulatory role in lipid metabolism and can lower total cholesterol and triglycerides, the regulating role of the former is stronger than the latter. Plant sterols also have lower serum LDL-C effect, and can effectively reduce the serum MDA content and AI values, enhance the AAI values. Phytosterol capsules can increase HDL-C. In addition, plant sterols also have certain antioxidant impacts , can effectively reduce the formation of lipid peroxide in the liver. Conclusion:. Plant sterols can reduce blood TC, TG and liver fat of high blood cholesterol rats, and can inhibit lipid peroxidation in the liver. Plant sterols regulate the lipid metabolism, antioxidant and prevent the effects of atherosclerosis. The impact of plant sterols on serum lipids may be concerned with the kinds of experimental models and plant sterols. Plant sterols soft capsule significantly lower total cholesterol and triglyceride of abnormal blood lipid levels of groups, increase high density lipoprotein cholesterol. Also, have no effect on the health of subjects and with a secondary lipid-lowering function.
