Objective: To explore the relationship between degenerative calcific aortic valved- isease (DCAVD) and coronary heart disease (CHD) by using echocardiography (ECG) and coronary angiography (CAG). Method: 286 patients with stethalgia ( ageā‰„33 yearsold) were retrospectively reviewed. Each of them had undergone ECG and coronary angio- graphy. They were divided into two groups, DCAVD group and non- DCAVD group according to the result of ECG. They were also divided into two groups, CHD group and non CHD group, according to the result of coronary angiography (CAG). Age, gender, history of hypertension, diabetes, smoking, TG,TC,HDL-C and LDL-C were measured. ChiSquare test, T-test and ANOVA were used to analyze the different of those indexes between two groups .Analysis the relationships between DCAVD and those factors mentioned by multiple logistic analyses. And Analysis the relationships between CHD and those factors added DCAVD by Multiple logistic analyses. Results: CAG showed significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).There was no statistical difference between two groups in diabetes, gender,TG, TC, HDL-C and smoking (P>0.05). Compared with non-DCAVD group, age, history of hypertension LDL-C were significantly higher in aortic valve disease group(P<0.05).Multiple logistic analyses identified aortic valve disease (P<0.05), age (P<0.01), TG (P<0.01),diabetes melli- tus(P<0.01),and hypercholesterolemia(P<0.01) as significant predictors for the positive prevalence of coronary arteriography. The DCAVD (P<0.01) and diabetes mellitus (P<0.01) were significant predictors in high TG patients. In patients diabetes , the aortic valve disease (P<0.05), diabetes mellitus(P<0.05), smoking history(P<0.05) and hypertension (P< 0.05 ) were statistically significant predictors of the positive prevalence of coronary arteriography. Conclusion: There is certain correlation between DCAVD and CHD. CAG is recommended regularly in adult patients with aortic disease and angina before surgery, particularly in patients with DCAVD.
