Application Of Comic Symbols And Frames In Animation

The Chinese animation market appears the situation of prosperity in recent years, but it is not difficult to find that those works from Europe and US and Japan occupied the leading position throughout the animation films that was released in domestic and awarded in international. The prosperity of comics has become a significant catalyst for the development of animation from historic evolvement of comics; they are not only have the similar styles, but have the infiltration for facture as well. It can be said that the comics and animation have always been inseparable from the historic origins to now. This paper gets the feasibility of putting the "comic symbols" and "comic frames", which belong to comic facture, into animation by analyzing its process.This paper analyses the using principles of comic symbols, and discusses the infiltration of comic manifestation in animation and mutual transformation of expression, and sums up the using type of comic symbols in animation by the role character and expressive forms in comics which primarily from Europe and US and Japan. At the same time, it analyses the difference of comics and animation in time and space by using the sub-lens approach, the spatio-temporal visual concepts and the comic frames. It also sums up the details for blending the comics frames into animation by comparing the examples, thus provides the theoretical and application reference for animation designers.The result which the cartoon impact on the animation not only has the inheritance on the creative theme, but should have the breakthrough and innovation on creative techniques.
