Soviet literature has had exerted great influence on Chinese literature particularly in the formation of contemporary literature. In the first decade of the People's Republic of China, Soviet literature which made up a considerate part of people's reading and artistic appreciation affected the aesthetic orientation of "new people's art" and thus people's belief, values, outlook, etc.. Those who had experienced those years have deep impression of Soviet literature which was ever connected so intimately with their life for generations that it can't be removed from the memory of the new Republic. In this sense, a more systematic and profound arrangement and illustration should be taken on the China's take-in of Soviet literature in the special 50s, and a further probe into the diverse influence of Soviet literature on the development of Chinese contemporary literature is necessary to represent its formation. The research was based mainly on the principles and approaches of historical materials study and comparative literature. The abundant collection of historical materials offered in the research supplies the disciplinary study of Chinese contemporary literature with important literature basis.
