This dissertation, which is composed of two parts: an introduction and the main body, mainly explores literature evolution between the middle and late Eastern Han Dynasty and the Jian'an Period .The introduction part probes into the problem of literature consciousness. The first part tries to discuss the influences of the politics vicissitude on literature evolution. The decline of politics in the middle and late Dong Han Dynasty and the upheaval of the country in late Han Dynasty leading to the three divisions of the whole country make the literature change in many ways, such as the loss of the spirits in flourishing age, the limits of the themes in literary creation and the miniaturization in literary structures. The literary works in this period just exposes the political darkness and the hardness of people' life at that time, expresses the authors' ideality and strong desire for splendid achievements and their depression when frustrated. The second chapter holds that the decline of Confucianism has effect on literature. With the decline of Confucianism gradually, literature breaks through the bandage of Confucianism and starts to revert to literature itself. The third chapter expounds the relationship between the literary evolution and the resurgence of Taoist school and the prosperity of Taoism. The resurgence of Taoist school leads to the prevalence of the hermitage literature and the prosperity of Taoism brings You'xian literature and Yang'sheng, Fang'shu literature to a climax, and also extends the literary fields. The forth chapter surveys that the changes of the public morals and more bring relevant diversification in aesthetic gusto. With the popularity of the advocating aesthetic, the beauty of human beings themselves becomes the themes of literary _exp:ression. All forms of literature develop along the direction of trimness and oraateness. The numbers of the works exposing and criticizing social problems increase greatly just because of the fission of the scholars' personality. The prevalence of the sentimental trends brings about the richness of the works expressing the worryabout shortness of life, the melancholy reveries while traveling, the miserable lovesickness and the unknown feeling of distress. The fifth chapter discourses upon the influence hi literature by Hong-Du Men Xue and Cao' family tradition. The writer maintains that Hong Du Men Xue in which Han ling Di was the representative personage establishes new literary mentality and was inherited by Cao's father and son later. The result in literature is that literature develops hi the direction of doctrine of Xing'ling and the secular literature grows up quickly in the late Han Dynasty and Jian'an Period.
