Study On Bangu's Poetics And Fu Theory

BanGu is a famous historian and litterateur of Eastern Han Dynasty. This paper describes his research on "Classic of Poetry", as well as his Fu theoryBanGu reviewed the spread of "Classic of Poetry" and arranged the data of "four explantions of Poetry" in his "History of the Former Han Dynasty", which is an important historical record for descendants to study "Classic of Poetry". The poetic theory presented in "History of the Former Han Dynasty and his quotation from "Classic of Poetry", reflects his Orthodox Confucian and classics ideology.BanGu launched his research on Fu theory mainly around his Fu works, as well as his well-known two Fu theories"Tu is the origin of the ancient poetry"and "Fu is not to sing but to extol". Meanwhile, he analyze the writers and works of Fu, all of which shows his contributions on poetic prose theory.
