In a nearly-100-year historical development, the Chinese piano art has started from scratch, expanded from embryo to childhood, and grown from develop to flourish. Especially ever since the founding of New China, Chinese composers have not only learned from Chinese traditional music, but also draw on western musical techniques. They have made various explorations in the field of national piano music and composed lots of piano pieces popular in the masses of the people.Wang Jianzhong and Chu Wanghua are two representative composers in the national exploration of China piano music creation. Extraordinary coincidence is, they arranged the same folk song named Liuyang River into piano music. And both of them adopted the national methods in the melodies, harmonies and songs. In this article, the writer researches the common opinions that different composers hold in the national exploration of the piano art. And at the same time, the writer probes into the characters of China piano music in the sixties and seventies, and attempts to find out the common traits shared in the national exploration of China piano music.The piano art is from the west. Nevertheless, it has always been necessary for China to develop its own national piano music so that it can take its place in this field. From this article, the writer wants to contribute to evolve the style of China's own national piano music.
