From Limited Body To Eternal Mind

Spinoza's theory on the unity of body and mind were collated and summarized under the ethical perspective; this article interpreted the content about the unity of body and mind ; analyzing its value to cure ills of modern society——the imbalance between body and mind, to provide theoretical support and spirit.power for the construction of a harmonious society.Firstly we explained the necessity and possibility of the ethical interpretation on spinoza's theory about the unity of body and mind.introducing its backgroud. In detail, strong ethical color of Spinoza's philosophy determines the ethical demands of the theory on the unity of body and mind; physical monism provides the ontological foundation of the entity for the body and mind; person is a part of the nature,which offers natural law support; pursuiting happiness and perfection is the subject and mission.Secondly we interpretated the ethical content: the body (limited life) refers to the natural rights of people,the activities around desires and emotionl; Mind means the eternal heart;from the static case, "Middle-way" means that limited life and the infinite mind are in a harmonious atmosphere; from the dynamic case "middle way" means subject search the balance for body and mind, according to the balant standards - following the natural way; the way of human relations; and sensible way. In accordance with the standard above, the subject's unity of body and mind is a dynamic, open and developing system. Levels of this way is infinite. mind's expanding. Well ,first of all ,to complete the harmony of himself, and then create the harmony between man and the outside world (the objective harmonious environment), in order to achieve the harmonious relationship between two-way interaction : from the harmony of himself- the harmony between human and the outside world(other people, society and nature)– the harmony of himself,which is the harmony circle. And this virtuous circle is not closed, rigid but dynamic, progressive, growing. In reality, the subjective condition and the objective condition are combined in the nature.Thirdly we revealed the ethical value of the unity on body and mind : it is a good treatment to cure the imbalance of body and mind on individuals in modern society , it is a good guide to achieve the harmony between man and other persons;it is a power to achieve the harmonybetween human and society; it is a helper to achieve the harmony between human and nature .which is the main purpose of this article, interpreting the content and analyzing the ethical value on Spinoza's theory about unity of body and mind, through this way,we can heal the imbalance of body and mind in modern society, only realizing the harmony of oneself firstly,can we achieve the harmony with others, the harmony between human and society,the harmony between human and nature, and then harmonious society.will arrive early.The Innovation of this paper including three points:firstly,the ethical interpretation on the unity of body and mind ;secondly,the double meaning on middle way;thirdly,explaining two-way interactions between people and world .The theoretical value and practical value: on the theoretical level, broadening the vision of domestic harmony theory; riching the content of the theory of domestic harmony theory; supplementing domestic Spinoza's theory on the unity of mind and body.on the practical level, this article is conductive to the realization of the individual harmony and the Society harmony.
