Based on the original studies, contents such as literature, cultural custom, character biography and social history of the notes were reviewed completely in order to describe the work's true panorama in detail for the further study in this dissertation. To be specific, this dissertation is divided into four parts.The introduction analyzed the literary style characteristic of the Note of Lao Xue An briefly as well as explained the situation of the study, the significance of the study. And it also gave a brief introduction on the anticipating goals and the study methods.Lu You's note was reviewed comprehensively in the main text. Lu You was considered as a master of the notes writer in Song Dynasty. His notes were rich in contents and had high literature value. The Note of Lao Xue An acted as an important component of the notes of song Dynasty in many parts, such as literature, culture, custom and other historical dimensions,Chapter 1: The review of the Note's literature value. The first section mainly reviewed Su Shi and Wang Anshi's anecdote. The cultural customs and ancient laws and regulations of Sichuan were discussed emphatically in the second section.Chapter 2: The review of the Note's historical value. The first section is about the historic characters. Some anecdotes of five kings were given firstly, and then two dignitary eunuch Qin Hui and Cai Jing were investigated carefully. The second part is about social historical facts. The struggles of resisting Jin Dynasty and peasant revolting were studied in the fourth section. The textual criticism and annotation of poems and articles were discussed in the fifth section.Chapter 3: The review about the Note of Lao Xue An's poetics. The poetics integrated and classified in this note were investigated in Lu You's whole literary thought. The poetics'main points include poetry's patriotic and authentic, working outside of poems, the spirit busting from the poem, breaking of the set pattern, innovation and pursuit of plain. These points were discussed in detail in the sections 1 to 5.Chapter 4: The review of the influences of the Note of Lao Xue An. The influences for the aftertime historical records and others ancient books and records were respectively discussed in the first and the second section. The relationships between modern scholars and the Note of Lao Xue An were inspected in the third part.
