The fable is the essence of the language and fruits of the wit in which the characters including various kinds of animals, plants and human beings. Plots in the fable are interesting, concise, comprehensive and being with rich meaning. But, the comprehension and the application about the profound implied meaning of the fable bring a big problem to readers, the misunderstanding of the fable mainly owing to the misunderstanding of the deep implication behind the simple language form of the fable and the limited acquaintance that there is a close connection between the production of the meaning of the fable and the thinking conceptual system, readers have no choice but to understanding the surface meaning according to the meaning of words and sentences. In consideration of the necessity and signification about the study of the fable, many scholars devoted to this field and acquired plentiful fruits covering aspects of literature, rhetoric, translation and education, but have seldom studied from the dynamic perspective of the conceptual integration theory.Based on the conceptual integration theory put forward by Fauconnier and Turner, this thesis analyzes the understanding process of the fable, in blended process, the elements and frames from the input space I and the input space II produced cross-space mapping in which partial of elements projected into blended space. Through three steps of COMPOSITION, COMPLETION and ELABORATION the emergent meaning comes into being which does not exist in either input spaces, we can explain the inner psychological mechanism when read the fable. In the process of understanding the fable we can construct mental space by partial recruited elements and activated through concept and experience. This kind of blending blends corresponding parts in two input spaces and these inner information has its inner connection.In this thesis, by means of selected and analyzed six critical fables, to demonstrate the whole process in which the implied meaning occurred and the conceptual integration networks explained the emergent meaning with cognitive explanation. The paper finds that the implied meaning of the fable mainly revealed in the emergent meaning based on the conceptual integration theory. This paper presents the theoretical approach for the causation and comprehension of the fable.
