| The ECG reflects electrophysiological activity of the heart, which is an important reference frame of evaluating cardiac function and diagnosing heart disease. How to reduce the ECG data by compressing needs to be transmitted in clinical significance.Combined with the practical problem in ECG transmission and compression, R-R fractal algorithm is put forward in this article. It can guarantee compressing rate and don't affect the quality. In this article we also discuss the algorithm from the other point of view.First, the ECG are compressed by fractal in equal segmentation. The evaluation shows that this compression method is just simple segment handling, it can't combine with the characteristic of ECG very well. Though the compression ratio is well, some important information of ECG will be lost after they are decompressed, this method needs to be improved.Second, the ECG are sampled by the method of fractal interpolation, then checked the R wave with the threshold method and peak value method. After comparing these two methods, the peak value method is chosen for high accuracy and low operation complexity. Finally, the R-R fractal algorithm is put forward, which algorithm combines with the characteristic of ECG. The evaluation result shows that this method has good compression quality and high compression ratio, this algorithm maintains almost all the important information of ECG after decompressing, which is good for clinical diagnosis. In this article, the fractal method is applied into ECG compression. This method with high systematization can make high performance compression and don't lose the important information of ECG, it also can save a lot of decompressing time. The ECG compression based on fractal method reduces the data of transmission, cut down transmission cost and increase transmission speed, consequently it opens a new way of ECG compression. |
