With the development of economy and technology, the demand for yellow phosphorus maintains steady growth in domestic and international markets. As an important chemical industry in China, yellow phosphorus is occupying increasingly significant position. Phosphorite resources is a non-renewable resources, but yellow phosphorus is the heavy energy consumption, heavy pollution and resource-related product. Foreign countries have entered the Chinese market and plundered our phosphorite resources and power energy, protecting their own resources. Considering protecting the strategic resource, China government is engaging in upgrading the industrial structure by eliminating the factories that are equipped with outdated industrial capacity and caused heavy environmental pollution, and encouraging energy conservation, efficient production, low consumption and fine chemical industry. Nowadays, as the concentration ratio of the industry is becoming larger, competition has been intensifying among companies. Against the background of scarcity of resources, environmental protection, industrial upgrading and fierce competition in the industry, sustainable development and competition is an inevitable choice to yellow phosphorus companies. To reform proper competitive strategies is critical and necessary for promoting sustainable development, improving competitiveness, and achieving harmony between business interests and environmental interests.In this paper, the problems of the enterprise were analyzed and summarized, and a feasible strategy was put forward. Strategy formulation steps divided into three phases. In the first stage, in terms of the external environment, internal resources and abilities, the paper qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed the key internal and external factors (business opportunities, threats facing, advantages and disadvantage) by EFE Matrix and IFE matrix.In the second stage, through the GS matrix and SWOT matrix, critical internal and external factors were sorted and matched with viable strategic options. In the third stage, QSPM matrix evaluated and compared the attractiveness of alternative strategies. Considering the theory of environmental competitive advantage, the company's actual situation as well as the alternative strategies, the paper chose a competition strategy, which was based on overall cost leadership, oriented towards concentric diversification, and supplemented by building environmental competitive advantage. Finally, the corporate tactics were put forward, the tactics were:Green tactic, in combination with other auxiliary tactics, build competitiveness of overall cost leadership and advantage of enviromental protection to safeguard the implementation of the competition strategy, solving the problems of enterprises.
