Research On The Financial Cluster Based On The Headquarter-economic Development Capability

With the success of bidding for holding 2014 Youth Olympic Games and the trend of the integration of world economy and financialization of economy increasingly boosting up, Nanjing will become the target district for locating the headquarters or the regional offices of international foreign banks, insurance corporations, securities corporations, and funds corporations. In this background, how to promoting Nanjing regional financial center's construction, and which path of the development should be choose? The paper try to find the answer through evaluating the headquarter-economic development capability, and this is just the purpose of the paper.This study is divided into four parts:In the first part, the paper introduces the financial cluster (Regional Financial Center) of the relevant economic concepts and theoretical overviews, preliminarily discusses the relationship between the financial cluster and the regional economic development, and summarizes the evaluation index systems of the financial center both at home and abroad.The second part is introduction of the headquarter economy of the relevant concepts and theoretical overviews, preliminarily discusses the relationship between the headquarter-economic development capability and the financial cluster, and summarizes the evaluation index systems of the headquarter-economic development capability both at home and abroad.The third part is empirical analysis of the headquarter-economic development capability and the financial cluster respectively. First, based on the"Diamond model of National Advantage Theory"by Michael E. Potter, the paper established an original evaluation index system of the headquarter-economic development capability. Second, principal component analysis, regression analysis and cluster analysis are utilized for extracting. Three major influencing factors are obtained, Coupling High-tech Industry with Modern Services, the level of the economic strength and radiation, and the supply of infrastructure and human resource. In addition, the paper originally proposed"The Car Model of City Advantage Theory"based on the linear regression of the headquarter-economic development capability and the financial cluster.The last part is study on the strategic research about building the regional financial center by the status quo of Nanjing headquarter economy development. In accordance with evaluation results, the paper illuminates the feasibility of establishing Nanjing regional financial center and proposes the economic policy proposals.Through these studies, the key factors and their impact of the headquarter-economic development capability are revealed, the relevance between the headquarter-economic development capability and the financial cluster are proved, and the strategies about establishing Nanjing regional financial center are proposed.
