Following the accession of ten Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) to the European Union (EU-15) in May.2004, one of the central questions is what effect the integration of CEECs will have on the labor markets of the extended Union, especially of Germany. This thesis tries to analyze the influences of eastern enlargement on the German labor market and German countermeasures.First, this thesis researches the analytic framework of labor market and employment. On the Basis of integration theory and Heckscher - Ohlin model, the author then analyzes the influences on German labor market caused by eastern enlargement in terms of trade, migration and capital flows. The last part elaborates on the countermeasures and employment policy reform carried out by the German government. |
