Secondly introduced a lot of commonly used processes capability indices in the following several chapters, and summarized respective usage and the specific goal, pointed out the process capability index is effective method to appraise the process capability, It may judge the process capability, and also can carry on the early warning together with other alternative means. The essential process has very tremendous influence to enterprise's achievements. Finally, through the empirical study of supply chain and supplier management within YL company', the writer testified the validity & utilizes of this method, compared it with the existing supplier management situation. Through the actual utilization, the wrier proposed further idea to improve this method use , introduced attention question in the actual operation.The characteristic and the innovation of this article mainly in: (1)proposed the process capability index to appraise the suppliers, emphasized the charge and control of supply process ,which is different with former "the result" concern; (2) established the early warning system of supplier essential process capability, which can analyze the change difference in the supplier process, discover the reason of the change.The study not only took supplier's process capability as the basis foundation for supplier, but also provided enterprise supplier appraises system. Meanwhile, supplier essential process capability method can be used in the whole supply chain, formed essential process capability method for each functional module of supply chain.
