Nowadays, the telecommunication industry is getting more and more important to thenational economy growth. This enables the information industries become the pillar ofnational economy. And the mobile communication industry, which includes hightechnology and also has the great advantages in the digitization and migration, becomesthe most rapid industry. It is more than ten years since China Unicorn was established in1994, which introduced a competition mechanism in the field of telecommunication. Butwe are not very clear for the competitive performance. Therefore, it is necessary toanalyze the competition situation and performance for this period. And I hope I canprovide some useful advice when there is a new network standard after the issue of 3Glicense.Compared with mobile communication market competition condition in theEuropean and American countries since the introduction of the competitionmechanism in 1994, this thesis takes a empirical study of achievement about China'smobile communication industry. It statistically analyzes the market structure, marketbehavior and market performance of China mobile telecommunication industry basedon the theory of SCP in western economics of industrial organization. Then it tries toprovide some policy proposal under the 3G background.This thesis has five parts. The fu'st part is introduction, including a simple review ofthe literature, the innovation of these papers and the structure of this papers. The secondpart briefly describes the reasons for the telecommunication reform. And introduce ourcountry's mobile communications industry from the three aspects: market concentration,product differentiation and entry barriers. The third part introduce the conduct ofcompetition between major two enterprises from the following four aspects: price,brand,service and technology. The fourth part is the key chapter of this article. It mainlyanalyzes competition performance of our country's mobile communication industry. Theanalysis about the achievements of this chapter selects three aspects: the consumerwelfare,benefits of operators and the entire mobile communication industry. The fifth part predicts the competition and provides some policy suggestion of our country'smobile industry under the 3G background.
