The AS/RS is also called Automated Storage and Retrieval System. It is a system of storing and retrieving materials automatically and the Mechanical and Electrical Integration production of high technology and density covering information, storage and management which deals with many fields. Owing to high cost of the AS/RS, how to advance the efficiency of AS/RS and how to make the most of it are the key problems to be researched. The management and control of AS/RS involves a lot of factors and aspects, among which both the AS/RS's storage/retrieval principles and rack area zoning of storage machines are related with its economic benefits and social effects when they are in the operation of storage and retrieval. Therefore, the dispatch of storage has been the focal point to be researched by enterprisers and scholars.In the past, the ability of AS/RS is analyzed based on storage/retrieval entrance at the same place, while the actual AS/RS's storage/retrieval entrances are not at the same place especially when they are in the double-deck factory buildings. So in this essay, the effect of distribution about storage/retrieval entrances towards efficiency of storage and retrieval is to be studied. Three different kinds of calculating formula about operating cycle of storage/retrieval ability are to be achieved under the condition of different storage/retrieval entrance distributions. Meanwhile, according to different places of storage and retrieval entrances, it will have different drawings of rack area zoning of storage so as to improve the efficiency of storage and retrieval of AS/RS.In the end, the essay will analyze and improve the actual operation of AS/RS system of Shanghai Hitachi Electrical Appliances Co., LTD using the above theory, and then the improvement method will also be put forward to advance current operation efficiency of the system, to solve the problem of disordered operation sequences caused by a number of direct storage operations and to test the feasibility of improvement program through imitable calculation. Therefore, to some degree, the research is provided with value on innovation obviously.
