In recent years, in order to deal with the increasingly fierce international competition, multinational corporations speed up their localization in China, especially about procurement of product localization. As overall levels of the China's manufacturing industry is not so high, and the supply market is still relatively weak, the multinational corporation is encountering many problems and challenges in the process of product localization.This thesis analyzed the procurement management of product localization for S multinational corporation: Including the supplier selection, the supplier evaluation and classification, the supplier relationship management, and so on. According to specific characteristics of local supplier, S has significantly changed their management of supplier selection in process, criteria and strategy based on their original mode. Also, S focused on the development of long-term cooperation with local supplier about the supplier relationship management. In addition, S took lots of effort to foster and enable local supplier. With above improvement and optimization of supplier management in process and strategy, S gained many advantages of procurement of product localization and ensured its success. In summary, multinational corporations will have the chance of achieving win-win situation with local supplier only if they have adopted suitable process and strategy during procurement of product localization based on the well-known of local supply market.This thesis expects the research of S multinational corporation for procurement management of product localization could provide valuable material and method to the multinational corporation who is to make strategy for their local procurement and supplier management. In addition, it also will be a golden sample for local supplier to know about the process and strategy of multinational corporations about procurement in product localization.
