The Research On Supplier Portal Application Strategy In YT Bus Company Procurement Management

Since Chinese reform and opening-up, the large and medium bus & coach industry in China has entered into a new path of rapid development;besides the product, what becomes more important about competition among modern enterprises is the competition of supply chains. With the growing popularity of internet technology, at present, the major vehicle manufacturers have set up supplier portals in succession to enhance procurement management level. YT Bus Company is a large-scale modern manufacturing enterprise and its sales have ranked No. 1 for many years both domestically and abroad.The study takes procurement management and basic theories of supplier portals as a starting point, analyzes application strategy of supplier portal in YT Bus procurement management. In the study, the author takes the leading enterprise in bus industry-YT as a specific case; firstly overall situation and procurement management status in YT bus are introduced, the overall situation involves brief Introduction, development history,management status and concepts etc. and the procurement management status involves the organization chart of the supply chain, KPI system, organization chart and responsibilities of the procurement department, new supplier introduction processes and management system of category purchasing module; secondly, a series of problems about purchasing management in YT is brought out which include information management issues, purchase price issues,quality and delivery issues, non-production procurement management problems etc.; for management problems above, finally specific implementation of supplier portal in YT procurement management process is introduced which includes setting up of supplier management platform, purchase price platform, dynamic monitoring platforms of orders and delivery and non-production procurement platform through supplier portal;at the end of the article, the author also presents information security risk hints about supplier portal.Combining with the author’s 13-year procurement management experience in vehicle industry, the study enriches the theoretical system of procurement management and supplier portal, introduces procurement management current situation, problems and solutions in bus industry systematically and has certain practical significance on how to enhanceprocurement management systematization ability in bus & coach industry.
