Empirical Study Of The Efficiency Of Bank Mergers And Acquisitions In China

Based on the theories,the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) between banks are aimed at the integration of resource and the Parato improvement of collocations,and the successful M&A can bring positive effects to banks,such as the economies of Scale,the economies of Scope,the influence of market ...etc,so that the marketing performance can promoted.However,when carding at the existing documents,we find that,a great deal of conclusions from practical study do not support this traditional theory completely,and many banks performance after M&A do not distinctly increase(Piloff,1984;Berge,1999).Therefore,comparing the related theories and the accelerated M&A in reality,there seems to be a kind of paradox between theory and reality.Putting the reseaching vision on domestic,today the integrated activity of the large-scaled financial resource is starting in our country,and researching on the efficiency of M&A among banks has become a kind of important problem to theoris' researchers and practical worker. Therefore, carrying on a series of practical study of M&A's efficiency of our banks,investigating the efficient changes and its reasons,then drawing up the policies which are fit for our banks' development,those are not only have higher academic value,but have important practical meanings.This thesis is divided into four parts totally,surrounding the central point, M&A's efficiency of banks,gradually unfolding and analysising.Chapter 1 is an introduction,generaliazed the thesis' writing-background and its meanings,then carried on a historical review on researches and documents,fmally summarized this thesis' analytical method and structural arrangement.Chapter 2 is involved into some related conceptions about M&A's efficiency of banks,analysised the M&A of banks,the efficiency of banks and the theories about the M&A's efficiency of the bank. Chapter 3,the body of this thesis,with four cases in the two types of bankers' M&A,this thesis use the method of data envelopment analysis (DEA) to analysis and make relevant conclusions.Chapter 5,based on the conclusion in practical study,it push forward our banking's political suggestions and basic speculations.During the period of study,thesis synthetically uses the related knowledge of mathematical statistics, M&Atheroies,fmancial management,fmances...etc.,not only consider the banking's developed characteristics and special marketing environment,but also draw beneficial lessons about experiences and related methods from international M&A of banking.In the end,it carried on the practical study of our banking M&A's efficiency.According to the study's conclusion,in my opinion,we should change the government's function in banking,push the marketing M&A.With the maximal profitable target,and turn the operation realize through marketing.At the same time,the practical study further confirm that carrying on the bank's can bring the economies of Scale to banks,then obtain a higher performance.So banks' M&A can become a kind of strategic way that our banks will extend outwards.
