Abstract/Summary:
As the most important pillar industry in financial system, state-owned commercial banks are playing a significant role in the progress of our country's economy. The construction of effective corporate governance is the core of the innovation of state-owned commercial banks. By constructing effective corporate governance and modern commercial bank system, we can solve the problems of state-owned commercial banks. The listing of Industrial And Commercial Bank Of China, China Construction Bank, Bank Of China, Bank Of Communications is the great achievement of Chinese banks'reform.Firstly, the thesis summarizes the theory of corporate governance and commercial bank corporate governance, the performance of those listed bank. On the basis of relative research, the thesis overviews the process of four state-owned commercial banks listing.Secondly, this thesis analyzes the performance of state-owned commercial banks before and after their listing via combination use of EVA and financial indexes measures. This thesis finds out listing on the stock market makes State-owned commercial banks more efficient and more competitive. After listing, State-owned commercial banks enhanced their development abilities, obtain rapid growth, better capital quality and become closer to the other commercial banks.Finally, Some suggestions and countermeasures for listed State-owned commercial banks were put forward for maintaining healthy and rapid development . The corresponding countermeasures and suggestions include three major respects, namely, perfecting the management structure of state-owned commercial banks, building up the performance assessment system and improving the external environment of state-owned commercial banks.
