The Research On Performance Evaluation System Of State-Owned Commercial Banks In China

The performance of state-owned commercial banks as the key pillar of our banking industry, is not only indispensable to the sound operation and development of bank system, but also of great impact on the operation of the whole macro-economy. As the market competition becomes fiercer and fiercer, the performance evaluation of state-owned commercial banks has been paid more attention not only by the banking industry, but also by the government and the public. In this paper, we mainly focus on the performance evaluation system of state-owned commercial banks in china, aiming at designing a scientific, reasonable, and effective performance evaluation system of state-owned commercial banks with an attempt to discuss how to improve the core competition of state-owned commercial banks in our country further.This paper mainly consists of the following four parts to illustrate the performance evaluation system of state-owned commercial banks.First of all, it introduces the process of historic evolution on the performance evaluation and the current performance evaluation system of state-owned commercial banks in china, and then points out that some defects exist in the current performance evaluation system of state-owned commercial banks.Secondly, it illustrates the theoretical basis and theoretical framework of the performance evaluation of commercial banks, and provides a clear definition of the main body, object, target, method and index of the performance evaluation of commercial banks.Thirdly, on the basis of introducing traditional and newly-developed performance evaluation methods, it makes a comparison between them and then analyses the advantages and disadvantages of these performance evaluation methods so as to find the most suitable method on the performance evaluation of state-owned commercial banks in china.Finally, it discusses how to improve the balanced Scorecard, which involves listing EVA as one of main indexes of the card's financial aspect, and designs a kind of performance evaluation system that can reflect the business performance and development ability of state-owned commercial banks in china from the aspects of finance, customer, the internal operation, as well as learning and growth. Furthermore, it defines the weight of all index by applying analytic hierarchy process and presents the empirical research.
