Both economics and ethics are displines with long history. In the acient times, economics was a only a branch of ethics while in middle ages philosophers regarded it as a subordination of philosophy. Adam Smith and David Ricardo expressed their thoughts on classic ethics in their works.Until the modern times, economics became a displine which refrains from discussions about value under the influence of positivism and got bogged down in the "poverty".Amartya Sen, the Nobel Economic Prize winner for 1998 has been focusing on reviving the ethics in economics and recombine both the disciplines.Running through the thread of freedom, this paper gathers all the thoughts of Amartya Sen from the perspective of ethics and make the system more complete. Amartya Sen's thoughts on economic ethics call for the. reestablishment of ethics in economics. From the point of view of Amartya Sen, people's motives for self interest, evaluate through usefulness in the economics of welfare and the aversion from ethics in positive economics neglected the important role ethics is playing in economics and have been hindering the development of economics He expands the concept of "freedom" and regarded freedom as the capabilities of people to enjoy the life they deserved. He also pointed out that freedom is both the goal and the means for development and is of great importance as a valuation. Amartya Sen established the analytical techniques by capabilities on the basis of freedom and use this method to analyze poverty and equality. He believes that poverty is more than a low income. The essence of poverty is the absence of the basic needs of freedom, rights and capabilities. In this sense, the transformation of income into the capabilities, more rights for the people and the development of freedom is the essential route to the eradication of poverty. When it comes to equality, Amartya Sen pointed out the defaults of views on equality from utilitarianism, welfarism and Rawls' .Using analytical techniques by capabilities, Amartya Sen argues a basic capabilities equality from the view of freedom. This view has surpassed the view from utilitarianism and primary goods, and thus completes the moral appeal for equality. This paper elaborates on Amartya Sen's views in economic ethics and the importance of ethics in economics and our economic life so as to shed new light on our present construction of economic ethics.
