Along with the progress of economic globalization, financial globalization is becoming more and more spreading and deepening. Following the large-scale access to some developed countries in Northern American, foreign capital has controlled an increasing share of the banking sector in many Asian, Central and Eastern European, and Latin American countries since the middle of 1990s. The opening up of the banking sector has had a positive impact on some countries' financial security, but also has had a negative impact on others'. Why there are differences between these countries and what causes the differences? What role does the national financial system play in it? Whether the full liberalization of China's banking sector constitute a threat to China's financial security or not? Focusing on the aspect of different financial systems, this paper attempts to study the impact of the opening up of banking sector on financial security by other countries' data, and use the experience for reference of the opening up of China's banking industry.The dissertation is organized as follows:The introduction presents the background of the thesis, reviews the relevant research results both at home and abroad, and points out the research methods used in this paper.On the basis of explaining the concept of financial security, chapter 1 reviews relevant theories, so as to provide the analysis a theoretical background.With a survey of the different impact on financial security caused by the opening up of banking sector, chapter 2 conducts an analysis of the different financial systems with data across 10 countries in 4 areas, and examines what causes the discrepancy. Chapter 3 overviews development stages and current status of the opening up of China's banking sector, China's financial security, as well as China's financial system. On the basis of learning from international experience and lessons, this chapter points out the problems occurred in other countries what we should pay more attention to, and provides suggestions on opening up in banking industry of China.
