With the development of economy and the improvement of people's living standards, tourism consumers, with the goal of seeking high quality of tourism, are becoming more mature. So, self-help travel has become a new trend, which, however, is still in its initial stage. Although there may be many problems during the development period, mobile e-commerce, for the ubiquity of modern mobile communication, is a great impulse of the advancement of self-help travel.This thesis defines the concepts of self-help travel and mobile e-commerce, points out the psychological needs and motivations of the self-help travelers, analyzes the potential and the advantage that e-commerce may have on self-help travel, and introduces how to build the mobile tourism e-commerce information service platform using the theories of tourism, e-commerce, information industry and other related fields. A thorough discussion of the countermeasures of realization of mobile e-commerce impulse for the development of self-help travel is also presented. Details are as follows:Part One, the preface, is mainly concerned with the background and significance of this research project, research summarizations at home and abroad, the purpose and content of this research, and the methods and techniques of this thesis.Part Two discusses the definition and the forms of self-help travel, the reasons of the appearance of self-help tourists, motive needs and behavior characteristics, and the actuality of the development of self-help travel and the main problems.Part Three discusses the definition of mobile e-commerce, compares it to the traditional e-commerce from many aspects such as the network environment, the hardware facilities, marketing, transaction types, means of payment, etc., and disserts the actuality and predicts the prospects of mobile e-commerce.On the base of elaborating mobile e-commerce and self-help travel, Part Four makes some investigation into the two sides, outdoor club of self-tourism sites and organizations self-driving tour sites, respectively, and analyses the potentiality of application of mobile e-commerce to self-help travel using the data collected from the investigation. By analyzing the characteristics of mobile e-commerce, applying mobile location-based services, mobile messaging services, mobile payment services, and mobile internet service on self-help travel, it also discusses the advantages of the impulse on self-help travel development.Part Five suggests the ways for the relative enterprises to cooperate to build the mobile tourism e-commerce information service platform, and discusses the significance of the platform from the perspectives of profits, sales management, customer relationship, and others.By the analysis and discussions above, Part Six disserts the strategies from the rule of law, management, publicity and other measures to develop self-help travel based on mobile e-commerce.Part Seven is the conclusion, summarizing this paper generally, and proposing the areas that still need to be improved in the future.
