Industrial clusters have become popular and worldwide-spreading phenomena in the development of current economy. Since varieties of industrial clusters have been playing an important part in promoting significant wealth creativity, more and more districts focus on industrial clusters. In the course of practices, some industrial clusters succeed while others fail.An industrial cluster is a complex system, which is not all the same with others. Thus, what are the deep reasons that lead to such different results and how to improve the industrial cluster performance to develop region become the common concern.Based on the forerunners' fruits, the paper firstly systematically reviews the relevant literatures about theories of industrial cluster performance. Centered on those questions, the paper is focused on the sources of industrial cluster performance from different perspectives. A model of the path to form industrial cluster performance is proposed on the basis of the source system and its constructive elements. In accordance with its reasonableness and comprehensiveness, the author has made an attempt to start the empirical studies. The investigate questionnaire and statistics analytical method are adopted to analyze the industrial cluster performance. With this approach, we can not only picture the industrial cluster performance vividly, but also find out what measures are essential in order to improve the industrial cluster performance.
