Kinship Farmers Economic Growth

The thesis starts from rural resources allocation, studying the kinship relation to affect in the peasant household in the process of economic development: in rural areas, because of the withdrawal of the national power, the market recourses allocation methods need improving, the kinship relation as one kind of important social capital plays an important role in rural economic development process.The research is based on the investigation of an administrative village of H county in Hunan province. (1) The kinship relation in the structure of the social capital system of the peasant household tied by the consanguinity and qiran is still at the important place, it dose not diminish with the system reform and the proceeding of the reform and opening. The social capital system that the peasant households build at the kinship core in the economic developing process is versatility to the current social system. It is a rational choice of saving social cost and decreasing market risk in the current social structure. The phenomena that the peasant household's relaying on social capital network in the economic developing process is closed related with Chinese current system and traditional culture. Thus it must starts from the system and cultural levels to change this station.(2) The kinship relation influences the rural economic growth methods in many aspects. It covers almost the overall process of rural economic development, supplying the peasant households with scarce resources they can't obtain through official channel. Eg. the necessary capital, information, and manpower, etc. are the main mode for farmers to financing, get technology inheritance and obtain market information in economic developing process. It indeed has positive function in rural economic development.(3) At the same time, the kinship relation does some negative function on rural political and cultural aspects. They mainly reflect in bounding on the further development of rural economy. The powerful patriarchal clan affects rural democracy and autonomy. The kinship relation strengths the traditional consanguinity network and culture. It dose no good on the construction of modern civil system. The closeness of the kinship network constrains the capital flowing. It increased the whole trade cost of the market economy and enhanced the difficulty of building modern market idea.The lack of the formal national system resulting in that the farmers resort to kinship relation is the inevitable result. It is a kind of rational choice and active adoption of the farmers in current structure. Therefore, in order to change this station, it must be started from the system, develop professional training to improve the manpower capital stock, building financial supporting system and information center for the farmers and perfect the market allocation system to promote the sound and continuous growth of the rural economy.
