China's former non-commercial advertisement can no longer meet the increasing commonweal needs of today's society. Enterprises gradually become the principal performers of public benefit activity rather than government. Enterprises explicate their appeals for public benefit in commercial ads, which develops new ways of doing public welfare, making up the shortage of investment in non-commercial ads,and at the same time it also helps reflect the virtue of enterprises as social beings,improving enterprises'images. Appeal for commonweal in commercial ads is a twoway win for the benefit of both public and enterprises. Thanks to the efforts of enterprises, advocation for commonweal has been lifted to a higher level in quality and quantity comparing to history. Through explaining non-commercial ads and analyzing its significance for society and enterprises, the author puts forward strategies and methods in designing appeals of commonweal in commercial ads in the article, which aims to better develop influence of appeal for public benefit, provide instructive reference for enterprises to win reputation and find a practical way of sustainable development for public welfare.
