Urbanization, Eco-building Mechanism

As an important problem in the course of urbanization in China, ecological problem has been gradually recognized by the people. Urbanization has once promoted the development of rural economy and society prosperity, and had significant history significance. However, the ecological problems restricted sustainable development of city and town, have brought about grave consequence. The issue has aroused people's close attention. Based on the field research of Shuofang Town in Wuxi, the dissertation argues that the deficiency of ecological construction mechanism is one of most important factor affecting the deterioration of ecological problem. By analyzing of evolution of ecological construction mechanism, the difficulties concerning the mechanism itself, and taking the ecological constructing practice as a case, hope to probe into the possibility of optimizing and improving on the mechanism.The dissertation claims that ecological problem can gradually be eased off and avoided if ecological construction mechanism plays an important role in adcancing the city and town's ecological development. The government should play the dominant role in optimizing and improving on ecological construction mechanism, by taking advantage of market competition mechanism, social organizations and public participation at the same time. However, ecological construction in different region must be combined with local actual development closely with high respect with the local ecological environment. Any local government should probe into the effective mechanism suitable to local development, and seek the different pattern of ecological construction mechanism.
