The just price is one of the church's very important economic ethics in the Middle Ages. From the text of ancient Roman Law to the philosophical and theological works, the medieval legist and theologist devoted themselves to the particular discussion about the concept and theory of the just price, just on account of the Theodicy and their misgivings about the merchant or commerce. As a great theologist and thinker in Middle Ages, St. Aquinas by and large accepted the thesis that the just price is equal to the current market price. However, Aquinas's series of discussion about just price are equivocal and fragmentarily declared in his works of Summa theologiae and Commentary on Ethics, from which the thinkers in post- Aquinas's era drew the supportable words to their views. And even the modern scholars engaged into this field all the same threw difference upon. Till the systematic researches happened in De Roover's and Baldwin's works did the scholars come to an agreement in the thesis that the just price is equal to the current market price. But, the researches about so important an economic ethics of the church seemed to be thin and weak at home and the existing introduction about the study in the western academe. Considering this conditions above, this papers uses the achievement at home and abroad for reference to make a special analysis about the just price. On the one hand, my effort is done to define the concept of just price a in the special backgrounds of Medieval history, so as to find the just price's particularity; on the other hand, the attentions are paid to t what kinds of ingredient such as justice, theodicy and misgivings that support the existing of just price in the particular religious cultural atmosphere of the Middle Ages. Furthermore, this papers indicates that the medieval just price throws out the dissimilation character between the theory and practice. Because once the particular religious cultural atmosphere and social structure is stroke by the economic force, and will gradually break down, so by which the economic ethics supported will take leave of its power of restriction.
