On condition that resources sparseness and resources unbalanced distribution in globle, one country could not depend on its own resources to meet demand in the process of industrialization. The per-capita resources ratio of China is less than the average of the world, Thus, it is a crucial strategy for our sustainable development to fully make use of the resources and markets from overseas and domestic and establish a safe, steady and reliable overseas provider. Indo-China Peninsula is abundant in natural resources which is sharp lack in China such as petroleum, copper, sylvite and aluminum, Yunnan Province is a frontier province in southwest near Indo-China Peninsula countries, it is convenient to take advantage of mineral resources from Indo-China Peninsula countries with reasonable cost. It is not only could accelerate development of these countries, but also could be more important for sustainable development in China to enhance mineral resources trade between Yunnan and circumjacent countries and investment cooperation. This study analyzes complementarity of strategic mineral resources between Yunnan province and circumjacent countries focusing on mineral resources trade and investment cooperation. The advantage and disadvantage mineral resources between Yunnan province and circumjacent countries are shown on the Lancang-Mekong Sub-region traffic and mineral map (Fig. 1) with GIS technology. With revealed comparative advantage index, relative competitiveness index and trade complementary index, the trade complementary of mineral resources between Yunnan and circumjacent countries is analysed. Based on the investment cooperation of strategic mineral resources between Yunnan and circumjacent countries, the complementary of strategic minerals in both sides from a qualitative angle is studied. It is concluded that Yunnan could benefit from minerals export between Cambodia and Thailand, from minerals import between Laos, Vietnam and Burma. Yunnan has an advantage of skilled worker, technique and capital comparing with the five countries, and could promote investment and trade cooperation with circumjacent countries. Based on the pre-request of existing complementarity in mineral resources trade and investment cooperation between Yunnan and circumjacent Countries, the prospect of mineral resources trade and investment cooperation is discussed according to the analyses of mineral resources neibouring the main routes. From traffic infrastructure framework, political circumstance, mineral abundance, mineral technical level, and geological exploration and investment condition of mineral trade, the priority of the five countries in trade investment is suggested. It is suggested that taking Yunnan and Thailand as economic entity centers to accelerate development of whole regional economic entity.
