By using the project management body of knowledge, this paper fully analyzed the main alteration plan, technical feasibility and economic feasibility of a typical aero-derivative gas turbine for power generation application. China Gas Turbine Establishment of AVIC1 possess the technological advantages of aero-engine development, and related test equipments also keep ahead in china. Based on the above reasons, CGTE is in charge of the technology of overall scheme design, calculation, demonstration, as well as construction of test rig. The 5707th factory of AVIC1 is in charge of engine overhaul. Integration of the demonstration plant is carried out by Shi Xin High-Tech Co.,Ltd.This paper introduces the category and operation principle of gas turbine, then gives analysis and demonstration of the main alteration plan from the technical aspect. Lastly the paper makes the verification on the feasibility of test rig construction for the general scheme 1, and also analyzes the economic feasibility of gas turbine and the construction scheme of demonstration plant. The economic indexes being adopted in this research project are dynamic assessment index, including net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR) and dynamic payback period. By contrast with the power output from gas turbine front-end (Hereinafter referred to as Scheme 1) and power output from gas turbine after-end with power turbine (Hereinafter referred to as Scheme 2) that both are feasible based on the above economic indexes for economic calculation.
