With accession of the People's Republic of China to WTO, the testing market open gradually. The testing labortary and certification body come to China and build it's labortary. Our test labortary will really be on the road of marketing competition. Under the current situation, the testing market is extremely competitive. With foreign certification bodies in China rapid developing, market share increase year by year. The foreign certification bodies have many advantages such as organization, Brand, human resources and awareness of the market. With the support of the goverment, some domestic labortary have a wide range of well-equipped testing facilities.How to choose a strategy of effective competition may have become the most important and urgent tasks to ensure the testing labortary developing.Because It can not be optimistic about market environment Shanghai ELE testing & inspection institute must research and formulate it's competitive development strategy of differentiation according to its own conditions and the environment.The thesis consists of seven chapters. Chapter one is the summary of the thesis. The preface is about that the theoretical and practical meaning.In addition,Chapter one reviews the logical framework, the basic content of this article ,the research methods and possible new idea and insufficient aspect.Chapter two introduces the testing, certification and other important basic concepts and review the theory of competitive strategy at home and abroad so as to analyze the differentiation strategy research of Shanghai ELE testing & inspection institute.Chapter three analyze the external environmental factors of the differentiation strategy research of Shanghai ELE testing & inspection institute ,and introduce the China Certification & Inspection industry and mention competitive analysis of the industry, Porter's model analysis and strategic group analysis. Chapter four introduces that Shanghai ELE testing & inspection institute, and analyzes the resources, including tangible and intangible resources, VIRO framework and the expectations of stakeholders.Chapter five focuses on the SWOT analysis of Shanghai ELE testing & inspection institute, and presents three options for competitive strategy, and identify the appropriate competitive strategy of differentiation.Chapter six mainly mentions the implementation of the the differentiation strategy including technological innovation, brand building, human resources, information management systems and organizational management. Chapter seven gets the conclusions of this thesis, as well as three policy recommendations and directions for further research. The conclusions of this thesis is that Shanghai ELE testing & inspection institute should most best choose the competitive strategy of differentiation.In addition,marketing strategy will be researched as the direction of further.The thesis's new idea is that It is the first time to use the technology and organization method to make technological innovation and development goals come true so as to the implement the differentiation strategy.It is necessary to use establishment of organizational guarantee, monitoring , evaluation ,adjustment, annual assessment and corrective measurement to ensure to effectively implement the strategy of differentiation.In addition, the analysis has a certain reference value for such a special industry competitive research strategy through the use of various types of theoretical analysis method.Due to the lack of information on the sources and time, the thesis need further research that what is the appropriate marketing strategies according to the institute'situation and the environment.
