With the rapid development of China's economy, higher demand for the electric power resource is required, which drives the rapid development of the power automation industry. Huazi Group, which is a small and medium-sized enterprises in the power automation industry in China, grows up at a high speed with its scale expanded continually due to the development of this industry. On the bases of analysing the factors which dirve the high-speed development of the company in the last years and making sure whether this company still has potentiality to grow up in the coming years, it is necessary to do a research objectively for the enterprise growth of Huazi Group.The research of the enterprise's growth has already been done in the academia at present, however, few of this researches are aimed at growth of individual enterprise directly in China. Therefore, this thesis attempts to start with the growth theory of the small and medium-sized enterprises in China. Then it will build up a new enterprise growth evaluation index system from three dimensionalities of growth speed, growth quality and growth potential on the basis of the growth evaluation index of the small and medium-sized enterprises which we have already possessed. According to the new index system, weighting grading law is used to set up the appraisal model of growth, and the index weight is calculated by AHP. By choosing the relevant data from the 2003-2007 years of Huazi group and the data of 11 public-companies in the power automation industry, the research of the growth of Huazi is done from vertical and Horizontal aspects with the help of the appraisal model of growth. After detailed analysis to the results of the appraisal model, it is conclusioned that Huazi group is the sales ability is much stronger than the R&D. In view of the problems which expose during the research, the solution has been proposed from aspects as the marketing competitive strategy, the human resources, R&D and so on. At the end of the thesis, the deficiency and defect of the model is put forward.
