By giving a brief introduction of Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, especially the integrated regulation institution FSA under the act, this article indicates advantages of the regime of the United Kingdom. Based on this, this article analyses the disadvantages of the financial regulation regime of our country and also points out how to learn from the United Kingdom.This article can be divided into three parts:In the first part, the article introduces the legislation background, reason and contents of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. After that, this article introduces the objectives, operation mechanism of FSA as well as the transfer from rule-based regulation to principles-based regulation of FSA.In the second part of this article, the writer analyses in detail the integrated financial service regulation institute FSA and points out its characteristics. Meanwhile, the writer gives an analysis of the transfer from rule-based regulation to principles-based regulation and illustrates the meaning, the reason and preparation work of this kind of transfer.Finally, the author puts forward two constructive suggestions on the improvement of the financial regulation regime of our country:first, to establish an integrated regulation institution of our country so to implement the functional regulation; second, to learn from the principles-based regulation of United Kingdom so to improve the financial regulation regime of our country to a higher level.
