Sino-us Electronic Instrument Industry Trade Impact Of Changes In Labor Demand,

The knowledge economy development represented by the"Information Technology Revolution"of 1990s has become the main characteristics of social and economic development of current international society. Its emergence has promoted the speeding up of process of economic globalization and has exerted a deep influence on current national trade and international division system. The strategy of"Promote Trade Through Technology"implemented by China in 1999 aimed to optimize and improve the structure and quality of China's foreign trade in order to face the challenge of gradually opener market to China's economy and enable China to occupy a favorable position in competition of international market. As the second biggest trade partner of China, the Sino-Us trade occupies a very important position in China's foreign trade. Since 1992, the structure of Sino-Us trade goods has had a great transform. The manufacturing goods occupied 90 percent of volume of Sino-Us trade. The strategy of"Promote Trade Through Technology"further speeded up the development of Sino-Us electronic and instrument trade and occupied a leading position in Sino-Us trade.Based on the domestic and foreign scholars'research theories and fruits of intra-industry trade and international trade's impact on the labor demand, this article makes an analysis of relevant research on the changes of international competitiveness of China-US electronic instrument products and foreign trade's impact on China's labor demand in addition to the intra-industry trade level and the type of trade. Then based on the previous research results some relative policy suggestions are proposed. This article makes a research on China-US electronic instrument in intra-industry trade's impact on China's labor variable demand by using mature theoretical analysis of the field and empirical analysis. We come to the conclusion that the increase of trade volume of electronic instrument products in China-US trade cannot present the synchronous development of the level of international competitiveness of China's industrial technology."Revitalizing Trade through Science and Technology"strategy has improved the level of international competitiveness of China's electronic products to a certain extent, but the quality of trade was declining. However, the situation of apparatus products was exactly the opposite. Nowadays, the foreign-funded enterprises have accounted for more than 60% in electronic products of China's export trade, and it formed a trendency of export dependency. China-US trade export in electronic products and the industrial real output have played positive roles in promoting the increase in labor demand, while imports of electronic products would restain the labor demand. In addition, the increase of China's labor demand in electronic products industry was the results of the increased trade of imports and exports, industrial real output and the capital accumulation, and ?the accumulation of capital and labor demand were mutual cause- effect relationship; Instrument industry was subject to the impact of its factor intensity, and the labor demand has promoted the increase of industrial capital accumulation, but the demand for labor would not be affected by the firms'increasing capital anymore when the industry has reached a certain scale. Therefore, we can draw the conclusion that there is a certain gap in the level of technological development of electronic instrument industry between China and US. Actually, the increase of bilateral trade volume has little influence on China's technological level improvement. If China wants to find itself in an advantageous position in the international competition, the government should take their own electronic instrument industry into account and enhance both the digestion and absorption of the introduction of technology and put innovation in equal importance. Meanwhile, the government should guide domestic enterprises to build their well-know brand and attach great importance to the improvement of the quality of labor force.This study will provide some enlightenments for recognizing the development stage and the trade level of China's electronic instrument industry, but there are some shortcomings due to the writer's limits, such as the availability of datas, the analyzed products can't cover the whole industry and so on. Developments and perfections still remain to be further improved.
