This study takes marriage change of Tu-liang village of Hohehot Inner Mongolia as a case,and the diachronic research inspects the rites of marriage of a national minority village which Han nationality and Mongolian nationality dwell together. From 1940 to 2009, the research is based on the field study of deep interview, history documents and folklore concepts,a means mixes qualitative and quantitative,with the rites of passage theory. The study analyses the change processes of rural marriage rites after the foundation PRC, particularly the era of reform and opening-up.This kind of survey mainly interprets the rites of marriage of national minority which includes form, content, stages and the backgroung of the change.The paper includes four parts.The introduction is the first part, that contains the theory with the rites of marriage at home and abroad and research methodologies.The second part is the first chapter which introduces the village's background and emphasizes the nation element's effect.The third part covers chapter two,three and four.On the base of local situation,the author studies mate selection,marriage payments and the rites of marriage.The mate selection passes througe four angles.With the improvement of living condition, marriage range gets larger, the mate model diversifies,and the decision-making subjcet changes.The writer researches mating criterion through three aspects.And the nation factor is the most improtant within this.The performance of Mongolian superiority continues.What's more,groom's family pay close attention to bride's morality and the bride interests groom's belongings.People are familiar with the situation that groom is elder than bride.About the job occupation,family hope that the new couple's occupation are similar.The author studies marriage payments througe three periods.From 1940 to 1959,groom family's invest is more than bride's.And the bride-price includes clothes and ornaments.Because of no requiring, trousseau is limited. At the period of the Cultural Revolution, marriage payments continue with the pressure from nation and economy.We shoule take care of the disappeacance of Ding-qin ship and the appearance of breeding money. After the reform and opening-up,bride-priee and trousseau are increased. The marriage payments flow into the new couple.Chapter four is the point.Based on the ritrs of passage theory,the author researcher the local marriage change,following the places change. Traditional marriage undergoes the national oppression and social change. But traditional marriage reconstructes through the the reform and opening-up. Some factors are displaced or Omitted.The most outstanding situation is marriage place changing, among maiden and husband's family to maiden, restaurant and husband's family.The last part are consisted of two parts.First of all,the writer summarizes the situation of local marriage rites and drives social change. The minority nationality should face the social change and develop nation culture through adjustment.
