Manchu Marriage Customs Change

Qing Dynasty in Chinese history as the last feudal dynasty and the dynasty of minority, has its own uniqueness in many ways. Manchu marriage customs in the early formation of the Community is natural and simple. Manchu changed its marriage customs as settling down central plains of China and on the effect of the Confucian ethical code of Han ethnic. From prohibiting the traditional Levirate, adopting one wife and more concubines system to changing marriage ceremony of Manchu, to changing the concept of chastity of Manchu and in the increase of intermarriage between Manchu and Han, these changes not only reflected social changes during hunting and fishing culture of Manchu replaced by farming culture, but also fully demonstrated great influence of cultural integration between Manchu and Han ethnic. In this paper, when we study in the marriage customs of Manchu, we will explore in depth the changes of Manchu in culture through the changing of marriage customs. And we will analyze the national character of Manchu and the influence of Han culture on the formation of cultural pattern of Manchu according to the theory of cultural philosophy.
