As one of the emerging Cognitive Science, Cognitive Linguistics mainly studies language from a cognitive perspective. It holds that metaphor which widely exists in our language and thought, is an important means of human thinking and the basic way of our life. Concept is metaphor essentially. Metaphor is based on embodied experientialism. The study firstly reviews the metaphor papers associated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from perspective of literature. We find that a small number of scholars have gradually realized metaphorical characteristics of TCM. But no one really explore the motivation of Chinese concepts'formation from cognitive perspective. Based on this, I do try my cognitive study of TCM under the guidance of supervisor. The paper is divided into five parts. In the first part, we introduce the basic knowledge of conceptual metaphor, recalling the development process of metaphor, how the focus of metaphor changes from original rhetoric to cognitive science, and so on. We also briefly describe the metaphor study made by domestic scholars, and the development trend of metaphor. The second part focuses on conceptual metaphor from the perspective of cognitive linguistics to make a preliminary but comprehensive understanding. We describe the definition, nature and systemic characteristics of metaphor, and related knowledge of source domain, target domain, image schema, mapping, etc. The foundation construction of metaphor is our experience and similarity. The basic opinion of philosophy is that the mind is involved to the body, the thinking is unconscious, the concept of metaphor. Metaphor can be divided into three kinds: structural metaphor, ontological metaphors, orientational metaphor. The third part, we systematically discuss the cold pathogen from perspective of ancient and modern literature. It highlights the knowledge of the cold pathogen's nature and pathogenic characteristics in "Yellow Emperor", "Treatise on Cold" and "Golden Chamber". We also describe medical records in past and present in order to understand the extensive of cold diseases. The fourth part stresses the conceptual metaphor of cold pathogen. We discuss the difference between cold and cold evil, and how the former becomes the latter from Chinese Medical theory. By the comparison between cold evil and natural cold, it is pointed out that they have similarities. The ancients observed that since cold can cause damage to nature, it can harm the human body too. The clinical manifestations of cold illness are similar to the situation made by natural cold. We choose and analyze an article of "Golden Chamber" as example to discuss how the concept of cold evil generated. The theory of conceptual metaphor was applied to achieve metaphorical between the two different domains of nature cold and cold evil. Finally we point out that the experience of human body is one of cognitive motivation of cold diseases. The last part is summary of the full text, and the scientific significance of the study.
