Vanadium as a very valuable strategic resources, has long been widely used in iron and steel, chemicals, TiAl metal alloy compound, optical conversion coating, fusion reactors, instead of alloy metals, automotive, rechargeable batteries, as well as aerospace. Guizhou is rich in mineral resources of vanadium and vanadium price can be expected to rise to attract a lot of private capital to invest, according to incomplete statistics, so far, a total of vanadium ore invested enterprises in the province more than 20, and gradually scale has become an important source of local economy, in order to solve the employment problem of local rural labor force to raise their living standards, has played a positive role. However, due to investors one-sided pursuit of economic efficiency, occupational hazards radiological protection measures have been implemented are not in place, inadequate supervision and management of health and related professionals and the general public for the vanadium ore a lack of basic understanding of occupational hazards of radioactive and other reasons,Vanadium mine a large extent on the development and utilization of the local population increased the risk of occupational hazard of radiation, but also inevitably bring about the harmonious development of the local community a certain degree of negative impact. As China's occupational health surveillance of workers and strengthened the importance of work, as well as workers of self-awareness of the continuous improvement of health protection, and conduct vanadium mining practitioners and occupational hazards related to the public Radiological Protection work will become more necessary and urgent. In this paper, mainly on the existence of vanadium ore in developing occupational hazards of radioactive radiation protection evaluation carried out in order to further improve the existing radiation protection management system in order to make this radiation reduced the risk of occupational hazard levels as low as possible to provide a reasonable objective basis. Methods used inclde: 1.Associated radioactive level of the field measurements to Tongren,Guizhou Province, one of the vanadium ore (hereinafter referred to as A mines) and a vanadium mine in Southeast Guizhou (hereinafter referred to as B mine).the specific content of the terrestrialγradiation, air radon concentration , radionuclide content, totalα, totalβconcentration of detection; 2.For vanadium mine workers and the surrounding public officers estimated annual effective dose;3.For vanadium mine in evaluation of occupational radiation protection and environmental radiation protection assessment;4.Vanadium ore occupational hazard radiological protection initiatives.Through the survey found that vanadium mineral ores, tailings, waste residue is much larger than the radionuclide content of the soil background value, respectively, its 238U content of soil background values of 32,18,31 times, 226Ra content of the soil background value, respectively, 14,12,22 times; The concentration of totalβin Sump water increased to some extent, but within the limits of national standards; The concentration of totalαand totalβin mining drinking water within the limits of national standards, but respectively exceed the background value in Guizhou Province of the concentration of totalαand totalβin drinking water 10.6 times and 176 times ;vanadium ore additional annual effective dose of public officers is less than the national standard limit;Vanadium mine in the workplace under the predictive value of radon concentration to reach 92000Bq/m3, underground staff extra annual effective dose is much greater than the national standard limit; the rest of the staff for additional years of vanadium ore effective doses were within the limits of national standards.Summary, for the vanadium-related staff and public officials in Vanadium ore mine development and utilization, there are certain occupational hazards of radioactive risks, especially for vanadium mine workers under the operation there are significant risks of radiological occupational hazards. However, by taking active vanadium mines, scientific radiological protection measures, and above the risk of occupational hazards of this radiation will be effectively controlled.
