Zheng Qin'an's Thought of Reinforcing Yang

The article is on the basis of three books 《Yi Li Zhen Chuan》 《Yi Fa Yuan Tong》 and 《Shang Han Heng Lun》 written by the famous doctor Zheng qin'an who lived in later Qing dynasty. Probes into the theory origin of Zheng' viewpoint of reinforcing Yang , the main content, clinical practice and the influence of the later ages. The emphasis of the article is to discuss the unique understanding of Zheng qin'an about Yin and Yang. Systematically studied his viewpoint of reinforcing Yang and linked the clinical experience of himself in order to demonstrate that the academic thought of Zheng qin'an is a kind of scientific knowledge. Zheng qin'an has known the most important thought of the 《Shang Han Lun》 and consulted about the theory of Yin and Yang discussed in 《Zhou Yi》 and 《Nei Jing》 and has used these theory to form his unique systematic academic thought of reinforcing Yang. He thinks that Yin and Yang is the foundation for each other, but "Yang" is major and "Yin" contains among Yang" He stresses the positive gas's important function in human's life activity, and considers that many diseases can be given rise to when "Yang" is exhausted. He advocates distinguishing Yin and Yang during the course of clinical treatment, and aimed at the Yang deficiency disease he put forward the therapeutic method of "reinforce Yang restrain Yin". He stresses to cure the sickness with ginger, monkshood and the cinnamon etc, and advocates using the "Si Li Tang" as the foundation prescription to adds or subtract. He an use the prescription "Li Zhong Tang" "Ma Huang Fu Zi Xi Xin Tang" "Bai Tong Tang" gilely, and has created many new prescriptions such as the "Bu Kan Yi Li Dan". "Qian Yang Dan" etc. These prescriptions have been gained notable effect in the clinical practice. The author has summed up the therapy effect of the treatment of the sweat symptom, blood symptom and the phlegm symptom etc on the basis of his own clinical experience on using the method of reinforcing Yang. The author thinks that no matter which disease to be , as long as being the Yang deficiency disease, it can be cured by the method of reinforcing Yang. By way of study the method of reinforce Yang , the author also hope to get some breakthrough in the curing instrumentality of difficult Disease and chronic disease.
