"yellow Emperor" Tibet As The Doctrinal Source For Research

The textual research on the origin of viscera-state doctrine of Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor( Neijing for short) being less and simple in the past, the formation of viscera-state doctrine is inquired into systematically in this dissertation by collecting the historical materials in the pre-Qin days and Han Dynasty and connecting the contents of Neijing. The formation of viscera-state doctrine of Neijing experienced a long period, some knowledge about human anatomy and physiology had been recorded scatteredly in the documents from the pre-Qin days to the beginning of Han Dynasty. The long accumulative knowledge on the human anatomy, experiences from life observation and medical practice had been summarized and abstracted by the author of Neijing to a certain systemic doctrine with help of the philosophical ideas before the Qin Dynasty, especially Huainanzi?s Monism and the Correspondence between Man and Universe of Yin-Yang and Five Elements of Dong Zhongshu in the beginning of the Han Dynasty. 1 Definition of zang-fu: There being no difference between zang and iii before Neijing ,even in itself, physical viscus and spirit store-house still, zang- fu had been divided into five zang organs, six fu-organs and extraordinary fu- organs. 2 Definition of the theory of the four seasons?five zang organs and yin- yang: Attributes for the five-zang organs: Neijing explained the qi of the four seasons?five zang organs and the position of five zang organs by applying the theory of Tai-shao of yin-yang from Zhouyi. Zang was thought as taking yin- character and fu for yang-character. Five elements were related with five zang organs with the difference of the Chinese script before the Qin Dynasty and the modern script, the former uesed in Guanzi, Lvshi Chunqiu, and Liji, there being the trace of the latter in Shiji, both could be found in Huainanzi. The former also applied in the Method of Therapy against Disease with Yin-Yang and the Biography of Canggong of Shiji. The latter being current in the Western Dynasty , so Neijing also applied. The functional system for five zang organs: More chaos in Guanzi, two different views shown in Huainanzi for the attachment of five-zang organs and orifices, the difference could also be found in Neijing. Viscera had been related with orifices, parts of body, emotion, sound etc., and the conception of wholism of the human body could be found in which five zang organs were regarded as the central role in human body. Relationship between five zang organs and nature: The analogy of five zang organs with nature and society was more before the Qin Dynasty, reflecting the process from the few to more and from dispersion to union.,more items of analogy could be collected by Neijing from Liji, Lvshi Chunqiu, Huainanzi ,etc.; The four seasons?matching with five elements could be found in Guanzi, Lvshi Chunqiu, Huainanzi, Chunqiu Fanlu, etc.. Connecting the contents of Neijing, the process of season and viscera's absorbing the five elements could be found with the arguments among different schools. The view of five- seasons?matching with five zang organs became the main view on season and viscera for the viscera tate doctrine, this conclusion had referred that the intensive relationship between human body and the exterior world had been built with analogy with five elements doctrine, showing the organic conception of the exterior and interior of the human body with the core of five zang organs.
